Willie Colon may be over his season for his torn triceps

Bad news for the Steelers did not stop with their thumping Sunday at the hands ofSteelers Jerseys
the Baltimore Ravens. They discovered Monday that starting right tackle Willie Colon has a torn triceps and his season may be over almost as quickly as it was in 2010.

Although the Steelers declined to say anything about any injuries Monday, Colon's agent, Joe Linta, confirmed for the Post-Gazette that the veteran tackle will have surgery this morning and he's "likely" to go on injured reserve, ending his season.

Colon missed all of last season after his Achilles was torn in June 2010. He had been their starter the previous three seasons in an . The Steelers signed him to a five-year, $29 million contract this summer to return to start at right tackle.

Linta said:"Willie is obviously devastated. But he vows to be back and give the Steelers more good years."

Flozell Adams, who replaced the injured Colon last season and started every game at right tackle, was released by them at the start of training camp. So, too, was former starting tackle Max Starks. Both remain free agents.

Last week coach Mike Tomlin said that rookie Marcus Gilbert, their second-round draft choice, would serve as the No. 3 tackle. They also have veteran Trai Essex, a former starter, and second-year player Chris Scott at tackle.
