Chargers Are In Support Of Breast Cancer Awareness

San Diego Chargers and the rest of the NFL are going to support October's National BreastMitchell and Ness Jersey
Cancer Awareness Month.And at that time,there will be their third-annual national breast cancer screening-reminder and fundraising campaign. In cooperation with the American Cancer Society which called "A Crucial Catch: Annual Screening Saves Lives," reminds women 40 and older about the importance of having an annual mammogram.Support the Chargers and support our (San Diego Chargers Jerseys).

The wife of Chargers President Dean Spanos,Susie Spanos, is one of three national spokespeople for the initiative. The American Cancer Society presented Spanos with its Celebration of Life award in April and she is an advocate for yearly exams, having survived breast cancer in part because of early detection.

Spanos who was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) said:"I'm truly an example of when early detection is successful."Her doctor advised her that her DCIS was not significant and to return in a year. She insisted on a biopsy to remove the cancer after recalling a similar scenario ending worse after her friend did wait a year to return to the doctor."Be brave and take control of your health in all aspects. Go get checked. Get the extra test. Just do it," Spanos said. "It's so difficult to be your own health advocate,but it is so crucial."

NFL breast cancer awareness games, including Dolphins at Chargers on Oct. 2, will feature:
Game balls with pink ribbon decals used for every down
Pink equipment for players including: cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline caps, helmet decals, captains' patches, chin straps, shoe laces, skull caps, sideline towels, eye shield decals and quarterback towels
Pink coins used for the coin toss
Pink sideline caps for coaches and sideline personnel and pink 49ers throwback jerseys
ribbon pins for coaches and team executives
Pink caps, wristbands, whistles and pins for game officials
On-field pink ribbon stencils and A Crucial Catch wall banners

Breast cancer awareness track jackets for cheerleaders
The Chargers will partner with ACS to honor 30 breast cancer survivors Sunday on the field pre-game. ZTA will hand out more than 20,000 pink ribbons and information cards at the entrance gates, and 65,000 breast cancer awareness beads will be distributed to all fans in attendance. Informational static displays at four locations inside the stadium will educate fans on the importance of early detection. As part of the pre-game festivities, 100 ZTA members in pink shirts will assist in unveiling the flag and a large pink ribbon on the field during the anthem.
